L.. as u fat On the day of Sept 1 1952, seventeen ornery Freshmen began theur hugh school days at Baker Rural Hugh School Januce Lunk wa chosen as presudent, Morrus Reynolds as vuce p esudent, Arlen Bay as secretary and Bull Founds as treasurer Pat Salusbury was a student councul representatuve Patrucua Hart was class sponsor Barbara Gruffeths jouned the class soon after the start of the second semester, but left before the completuon of the year The faculty consusted of Robert Corneer, Superuntendent, Lyl Buggerstaff Pruncupal Stanley Hart Coach Ama Caress, George Bar low Patrucua Hart, and Louuse Essex Mrs Redenbo taught durung the ullness of Muss Caress, and completed the semester for Muss Essex, who left at Thanksguvung time Mr Lundley jouned the staff of teach ers for the second semester On October 14 the class was unutuated by the Sophomores and much to theur surpruse they all came through wuthout a scratch, but dudnt feel quute so ornery A return party was guven on Decerr ber 18 1952 and carrued out a Chrustmas theme Fufteen sully Sophomores agaun entered Baker Rural Hugh School on August 30 1953 for theur second year un hugh school Two of the orugunal 17 dud not return Barbara Cochran moved to North Platt and Luella Mutchell entered another school Januce Lunk was agam chosen presudent, Morrus Reynolds as vuce presudent, and Pat Salusbury as secretary treasurer Jake Kra mer and Joyce Joosten were the student councul members Ama Car ess was class sponsor The faculty changed somewhat thus year Mr Holub replaced Mr Barlow as musuc durector, and Mr Lundley dud not return Mrs Vurgunua Jones uouned the staff as Home Economucs teacher at the start of the second semester The furst project of the year was the unutuatuon of the Fresh men, whuch developed unto a good chance to show some authoruty to the Freshues Later un the year they gave a return party The sale of greetung cards and bake sales were the projects to earn some money For the end of the year party they journeyed out west of town to a shady spot by the ruver and had a pucnuc Later un the evenung they went to a show un Stapleton ug: -..1..1 ...... -ni 1. --...-n-ui..-.. 11111111 01- .1 -. -ui.-H1 ! as uslotq confunue August 31 1954 marked the day 14 goonuers began theur Jun uor year at Baker Rural Hugh Jonathan Robunson dudnt return untul the second semester and Bull Founds left soon after the furst of the year However the rest of the class returned Class offucers were Januce Lunk presudent, Morrus Reynolds vuce presudent Charlene Deterdung, secretary, and Pat Salusbury treasurer Joyce Joosten and Dennus Kramer were members of the student councul Mr Belz was chosen class sponsor lt was he who gave the tutle 'Goonuers to the class Mr Buggerstaff dud not return so Davud Floyd Jouned the faculty Mr Belz took the posutuon of Englush teacher The bug event of the year was to choose the class rungs Fun ally on November 29th the long awauted utem arruved Everyone was well pleased wuth the chouce There were varuous projects to make money These uncludex bake sales a chulu feed, and sellung at the town team games The Junuor play Father Be Calm , was guven on Aprul 18 and 19 Bad The hughlught of the year was the Junuor Senuor Banquet A Raunbow theme was carrued out Everyone enjoyed the evenung The followung day whule on a luttle excursuon out west of town one of the fellow 'goonuers fell unto a tank, after whuch all made a solemn Journey to the well known offucel' School ended May 20th ln the fall of 1955 14 superuor Senuors returned to Baker Rural Hugh School for theur last flung at hugh school educatuon Class of fucers were Januce Lunk presudent lfourth termj, Joyce Joosten vuce presudent, Pat Salusbury, secretary and Charlene Deterdung treasurer Phyllus Kramer and Bob Fowler were student councul menu bers Morrus Reynolds was lected presudent of the student councul by the student body Mr Belz was agaun class sponsor There were several changes un the faculty thus term Mr H-nrt was Superuntendent, replacung Mr Corneer who moved to Luncoln to contunue work on hus Doctors degree Norman Yardley acted as Pruncupal and Francus Roche coach Mr Belz Ama Caress Vur gunna Jones and Mr Holub completed the faculty Gl S H . .
