GOSS Chairman Social Department VOULA JOHN Chairman Welfare Department Departments Services Besides this tea, Social department's spring projects included the Tolo Day and Dance, and Big Show, which was an all-girl talent show. Another spring project, building and decorating Girls' Club's Daffodil float, included any interested girls as well as members of Big S. Roll Room Congress was another way to include all Stadium girls in Girls' Club work. This group, directed by the vice president, consisted of one representative from each roll room. Through frequent meetings, the Congress could publicize important projects and activities and help make drives and sales successful. To end the year, a Memorial Day Assembly was sponsored by Fellowship Department. Active Senior girls who had not received recognition for their activities were chosen to place red, white, and blue wreaths on the trees in front of school in memory of Stadium boys who died in World War I. In the traditional theme of a medieval castle and court, new Girls' Club officers were officially introduced and presented with the symbols of office at the Installation Assembly. For a girl who had given the most time and unselfish work to Girls' Club, an inspirational award was given. Awarded to a worthy Senior girl, the Girls' Club scholarship was presented at Commencement. These lines of the Girls' Club Code typified this club's goals and ideals. After enrolling in Stadium, every girl was eligible to join one of four departments - Fellowship, Service, Social, or Welfare - and was urged to be active. To welcome incoming Sophomore girls, Welfare department presented Little Sister Day. In spring, the new girls met big sisters and toured the Old Brown Castle. During the summer, a picnic for both incoming Sopho- mores and upperclassmen was held. An Old Fashioned Christmas was Welfare's theme for its other major activity - decorating Stadium for the holidays. Because of the remodeled building, decorations were limited to windows, doorways, and hallways. Collecting money for underprivileged children was Service Department's job. Filling Christmas stockings with toys and candy was the result of a school-wide drive. A similar drive was held at Easter time. Sending girls to help at Welfare agencies and associations was another activity. Decorated in a Christmas atmosphere was the annual Mother-Daughter Tea. All Stadium girls and their mothers were invited to this event. High- lighting the tea was an old fashioned Christmas songfest. . fy ?,.,.x1 an . A A 5 1 fa .
