STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council, under the able leadership of President Donn Spencer, completed a successful year. Assisting Donn were the other cabinet mem' bers: Byron Dodge, vice president, jane Magnuson, secretary, and Bob Nyssen, treasurer. Acting as adviser was Mr. Streeter. Under the supervision of the Council, class elections were held in the fall and a complete school calendar was compiled. Bookcovers were sold by the Council members and clocks were purchased by roll rooms, with Bob Nyssen acting as chairman. With the financial aid of service organizations, Council purchased a piano for the girls' gym, One of the greatest accomplishments of the year was becoming afhliated through the American Friends Service Committee with a school in Gerf many. Affiliation through correspondence will help to promote a better understanding between both countries and schools. To evaluate the methods of council operation in other schools, the student body officers and yell team visited Bremerton and in exchange those from the Navy City observed Stadium while being enter' tained here. The Yakima Student Council visited Stadium during football season and a pep assembly was held to welcome them. Highlighting the fall semester was the annual presentation of Football Night, under the cofchairf manship of Elizabeth johnson and Don Elliott. As M.C., Ron Tatum's introductions were supple' mented by the clever antics of the stooges Dick Loren, Darrell Nelson and George Pearson. Haunted Castle served as a theme for the prof gram and also for the dance afterwards, with Helen Conger and Nick Olson as cofchairmen. Student Council had supervision over the P.A. announcements and members took charge alter' nately. DONN SPENFER President
