The Spartan News Part II 1973-74 Season , The I.V.'s performed with characteristic brilliance this season, a 9-3 record for a team that began the season with many in- experienced players. Their success must be attributed, in part, to their own cooper- ative attitude, but mostly to their energetic coach, Fr. Frank Crowley. Their achieve- ments affirm the saying, anything can be accomplished through dedication and work. The J.V.'s were victorious in their first three games. Their winning streak failed them during their next two games. But in their remaining seven games, the I.V. Spartans went undefeated, except for a rematch game with Flintridge Prep. After it was all over, the I.V.'s had turned in the best Junior Varsity Basketball rec- ord in St. Vincent's history. And the man at the reins of this record: Father Prank Crowley.
