' uv- Y ' Communicable Disease Nursing Study of nursing care as well as prevention, and con- trol are all important points in the study of communica- ble diseases. The important role of the nurse, in the Pub- lic Health aspect of Commu- nicable Direase is stressed. of Children Pediatric Nursing is quite different than that of adults. Often a rare and unusual disease is encountered, which occurs only in children. Pediatrics is indeed a challenging, but also a rewarding experience! Nursing Public Health The work of the City Health Dept. and the close co-ordination with all types of agencies, for care of needy families is seen in our Public Health service at City Clinic. Both clinic observation and home visits with a Public Health nurse are included in the three-week service. Education of the public and preven- tion of maior health problems, is the aim of our Health Departments. Psychiatric Nursing Our three month affiliatic at Camarillo State H-ospitr is one ofthe most interestir and educational. Close co- ordination between ward duty and classes enables u to correlate the mental il nesses with actual patients. A great deal of insight i gained, which is beneficial in not only nursing the men- tally ill, but the physicall ill, as well.
