Senwr Class H Lstory September 1954 that was the begrnnmg of our eventful days of hzgh school Students from town from the country and some from Drckrnson Santa Clara and Nrcholvrlle made up our Freshman Class Wrth Mr Whxtesrde as our class advrsor we met together and elected off1cers Donald Mushtare PICSI dent Frank Ravrlle V1ce Presrdent and Nancy Forkey Secretary Treasurer Ronald Perry and laylrne Holmes were chosen to be Student Councrl representatrves In June the class was separated for the summer but we stumbled back ln the Fall only to frnd that we had lost a few students However under Mr Sharpstene s gurdance our Sophomore class agarn elected off1cers Rome Perry was Pres1dent Lynne Gadoua V1ce Presrdent and Nancy was agam our Secretary Treasurer Jaylme had been elected Secretary of the Student Councll and we elected Donnte and Elarne for our S C representatlves Although nothrng was accompl1shed rn the money makrng freld we suc ceeded rn passrng our grade The Jumor year was certarnly an eventful year for us full of fun and surpnsesl Electron of class off1cers resulted rn Ronald Perry as Pres1dent Jaylrne Holmas V1ce Presrdent Elarne Parks Secretary Allan Cummrngs Treasurer and our Student Councrl representatrves were Allan and Nancy Also from the Junlor Class came Elarne Parks as Secretary of S C and Donald Mushtare Vrce Presrdent and Mrs Mendelsohn class advrsor Our frrst brg money makrng proJect was the Junror dance The floor show rn whrch we had our OWN Elvrs Presley! was a brg success Srnce rt was near Halloween the class decrded to sell crder along wrth the other refreshments Thrnkmg of economy the class accepted Eltas Deragon s offer to make the crder rf the rest of us furn1shed the apples So early on Saturday momrng John Wheeler and Ann Woods plled thetr cars full of Junrors and off to apple prck they went Later much later the bags of apples were delrvered to Elras We had several dances after our frrst success but we all remember the dance of the Apple Crderl Next wrth the help of our home ec grrls we made Jams and 1ell1es to sell Thrs was undoubtedly the sweetest scheme we had for makrng money In December Chrrstmas corsages were made mostly by Jaylrne Holmes The class enjoyed sellmg these and qurte a profrt was made Then the Annual Jumor wreath makrng sessron came up Everybody stayed to eat hamburgers salad chrps and cake Donald Mushtare served as our Chef so we d1dn't have to eat half cooked hamburgers June arrrved as always too soon tt was hrghlrghted by the Junror Senror Banquet whrch was held at the Crossroads Restaurant rn Morra Donne Fye and Judy Jock went to Grrls' State as S R, F C S re presentatrves All of then expenses were pard by the Amencan Legron We returned ln September 1957 to contrnue as Senrors and found work berng done to rmprove the school We orgamzed and elected Rome Perry Pres1dent Albert Hathaway V1ce Presrdent Jaylrne Holmes Secretary and Nancy Forkey Treasurer Donald Mushtare and Elatne Parks were elected for Student Councrl and Mrss Harvey Advrsor Allan Cummrngs served as Pres1dent of the Student Councrl Students found that much more homework tests college entrance exams and the lrke and also money makrng projects were rn great demand Our Magazme Campargn netted us about S2 50 although our brggest smgle profrt was the carnrval Many semors took part rn the srde show entertarnment Around the World Eltas Deragon was master of ceremonres Nancy Elarne Lynne Donald and Allan attended ESSPA Allan Cummmgs and Albert Hathaway won f1l'SI prrze for therr cover Mrlon Clark won second pr1ze for hrs cover Jaylme Holmes won second prrze for an edltonal and a prrze was won for the edrtorral page Everyone wrll agree that the Record Hops the Senrors had on Frrday mghts brought a great deal of fun although a couple of nmes we d1dn't have much of a crowd Father M Jareckr made rt possible for us to use the church basement for our dances The most memorable event of the year was the trrp to New York and Washrngton Then came some down to earth studymg for our Regents exammatxons followed by the most wonderful mght of all commencement mght, U 0 1 - .
