i P I x x '--A ' . W . W A - Wmygizfssassei-. cm. 22527 Rm Q l This year with enthusiastic coaching, experienced personnel and great team spirit the football team did an excellent job against tough opposition during the season. The team lost two close games against the number one team in state Q14-132 and against the defending WISAA championship team Q23-205. Though they were close, the Fighting Squires came out of the game on the short end of the score. The team proved to the conference that they had what it needed to be a champion- ship team. The Squires were rated to end up 5th in the conference during the seasonf but they proved that the sportswriters aren't right all the time by beating a strong Ap- pleton Xavier team C14-125 and tying for 2nd in the conference. The team spirit proved to be the winning margin at times in close games. The Green Machine compiled the best record C7 wins-2 lossesj in thelten year his- tory of APHS. They not only proved that they had it in them to win in clutch situations to the coaching staff but to themselves during the entire season. With this in mind the yearbook staff is proud to dedicate the 1971 Argos to a foot- ball team that the sportswriters thought was destined to be only mediocre but with great determination to win they proved that they weren't iust any team. Again, congratulations to the entire football team for a fantastic season compiled with raw power and pure determination. Now the challenge is set forth for future teams to meet and even break this record. 2 e cl C Cl 1' O TAB LE I OF CONTENTS Volume Page I Dedication I Table of Contents I Faculty I Classes I Sports I Qrganizations I Advertisements I Yearbook Staff. This year's book went through many trying moments until it was finished. I would sincerely like to thank our understanding advisor, Mr. John Weyers, for putting up with all the goofing off the year- book staff did this year. I would also like to thank Fr. Feldman for the chance he gave us for putting out this book. The staff is a real essential part to a yearbook and without them this book still wouldn't be finished, so thank you very much staff members of the I97I Argos for all the work you have done for me. I would also like to thank all the patrons who bought ads in the I97I Argos for their economic help to make this yearbook a reality. This book was extremely fun to work on and I don't think I would have missed it for anything. Again, thank you to all who were affiliated with this year- book.
