Any topic which is of general importance to Catholics may be brought up for study and discussion, not only for the enlightenment of the members, but also that they may be able to answer intelligently the difficulties and objections of others. A Catholic Action group can never regard knowledge as an end in itself, but as a means to an end, and that is to make the Catholic faith better known and understood. The dissemination of Catholic literature in hospitals and homes for the aged is a fruitful means of apostolate which is undertaken by this group. Mission Club L Making favors and toys to gladden the hearts of shut-ins ure: L. Witkowski, J. Mistretla, P. Read, R. Mazzeo, J. Bongiovanni, E, Turanslmy, Moderator Miss Paparazzo The Red Cross Club has the very laudable aim of trying to bring sunshine into the lives of those whose existence is made rather cheerless by illness or by the deprivation of home and family. The members have made many cheery favors to brighten hospital trays and they are a ray of sunshine to shut-ins and orphans by their generous gifts of bright picture books, games, toys and puzzles. Some ofthe meetings ofthe club are devoted to forums on healthier living. Red Cross Moderator Sister M. Dolorosa The Mission Club is always one of the pivotal clubs of any Catholic high school. Our late Holy Father declared that to be Catholic is to be apostolic. The students of St. Michael's show their zeal and prove their apostolic spirit by their efforts and their sacrifices on behalf of the missions. Mission Day calls out all the talents and devices ofthe student body for fund- raising, as class vies with class to be top in mission aid. This day is merely the culmination, not the end of activity, for all the year-round there are successively mite box collections, clothing drives, stamp collections, and the perennial Mission Dance. 13 Sorting and packing cancelled stamps to aid the missions are: E. Krupinslii, S. Geekan, C. Galena, M, Baier, M. Cul- len, E. Manzo, H. Donohue
