IV Behind Closed Doors No matter what scorching temperature the school ' s thermometer may reach, the faculty lounge doors w remain closed. The closed doors of this room have preserved the exclusiveness of a place where only teachers ore allowed. Few students have seen the inside of this one area of the school building where students are not allowed to enter, but are certainly allowed to knock, These few students say that they saw ditto machines, chairs and tables, which were littered with stacks of corrected and uncorrected papers, books and coffee mugs. The doors were opened to these students for only a short time. Although the space within these special four walls does not have all the comforts of home it does provide teachers with cubby holes, used to store a teacher ' s stuff ; hot water, for tea or coffee; and a bathroom, that is the closest to home that anyone may get. More importantly, this little sanctuary is often the place where dynamic ideas originate or it is a place where a teacher may find a few precious moments of serenity throughout rough school days.
