religion Imagine the universe beautiful and just and pertect, then be sure of one thing: God has imagined it quite a bit better than you hove. (Richard Bach) To go beyond imagination of a perfect universe, is to establish a relationship with God. The v ay this relationship begins is with understanding His message. His Holy Word which is reflected in the Bible. Establishing this relationship takes place ii Freshman year in Scripture class, and continues throughou three more years of discovery. Sophomores interpret the! Bible study of the previous year in Christian Morality, wher« Christian values are applied to daily living, bringing oni( closer to God. In Junior year, students learn of their Christiai identity in one semester of Womanhood, and learn th| history of the church ' s established community in on€ semester of Church. In Senior year, a girl has many options to choose from concerning herself and God, each a semester long. Christian Service, an off-campus, voluntary service class, is one of the choices, In this class, the student is challenged to be responsible and helpful to the Christiar community by tutoring at nearby Catholic schools, and aiding hospitals. Among the other Senior religion classes ari Senior Seminar, Marriage, and Jesus, Prayer and Me. EacI class prepares a girl for the outside world where she get the opportunity to establish herself as a Christian womaj with Christian values. In Senior Seminar, students an encouraged to discuss anything that concerns them d Christians in a modern-day society. Marriage Class informs - students about marriage regulations in the church. In Jesus, Prayer and Me, students learn about different methods of prayer that make getting closer to God possible. For St. Matthias students, religion class is as important as any of their other academic classes.
