Enrichment Campus Ministry was formed two years ago to supplement and expand the girls ' religious education Though the development of the department has progressed slowly, it achieved its main goal, which is to enrich each and every girl spiritually as well as mentally In this effort the department, under the direction of Ms, Gabriel and Ms Butorac, designed and successfully completed a diversity of interesting activities throughout the past year. The traditional class retreats were earned on with their usual spark of animation, but with a couple of changes. Instead of the customary one day retreat, the Juniors were allowed to enjoy an entire weekend in Big Bear and both the Freshmen and the Sophomores were granted an off-campus retreat. Among the most exciting and highly speculative presentations that were sponsored by Campus Ministry was Disarmament Week, which took place in October. This program was presented by Sr, Regina and Sr. Stellomarie from the Catholic Peace Coalition, it examined the topic of nuclear war through informative films and discussions. The event was an influential experience that enhanced the student body and delivered a clearer perspective on the nuclear weapons issue. Laureate Staff The production of anything worthwhile takes an overwhelming effort on behalf of everyone working toward the desired goal. This year, the LAUREATE staff and moderator, Ms. Gabriel, redefined dedication, creativity and insanity in many ways. One way was spending many hours on perfecting that final product — the yearbook in all its glory. Those countless hours were filled with imagination and a few jars of Midnight Oil that were definitely used well under the pressure of meeting deadlines. Room 104 was the Cellar Full of Noise. It was here where, in the commotion and hard work, ideas were developed, problems were solved, and a masterpiece was in the making. However, among the sweat and tears, there were moments of euphoria. Be it with meeting a deadline or receiving a compliment, a smile was always able to be obtained from the staff. Through the ups and downs, disappoint- ments and glory, the staff continually managed to maintain a sense of unity and accomplishment. 1 Section Editors Sagrario Orihuela and Mina Aguilar, identify pictures for their sections. 2, Designing the division pages takes a lot of patience and dedication from Maria Ledesma 3. Maria Curiel mal es sure her section pictures are cropped and numbered properly, 4. Bertha Rangel works on her section to finish it before the deadline, 5. Pilar Aguero, Editor-in-Chief, and Sylvia I?odriguez, Co-editor, check to see that all the pictures are in. 6. Layout designing takes plenty of cooperation from fellow staff members.
