Throughout the years, Student Council has been an essential element of St. Matthias High School because it has played an important role in keeping the school alive and united, Both past and present members have enjoyed dedicating their time and skill in preparing many social functions. This year ' s activities included: a baseball trip to Dodger Stadium, Spirit Week, a slumber party, a food eating contest and a celebration commemorating the school ' s fiftieth anniversary. The members have put all their energy into making this event a unique experience. As Maria Ledesma, president of the Student Council, declared, Every Student Council member cooperates and they are very enthusiastic about planning upcoming activities. So, as one can see, the Student Council aims to integrate their classmates in a diversity of enjoyable functions. Giving each girl the opportunity to participate and to get to know one another.
