Jesus And Me Days of (recollection are very important to the school, not just because we get a day off of school, but because this day is meant to bring the class together or, more importantly, to help each individual with problems they might be having. For the first time, all the classes did not have their retreat at the same time. It was also the first time the Junior Class was able to go off for a weekend retreat and the Freshmen did not stay in school Days of Recollection are very much a part of our school life. Liturgies Jesus Christ said, Whenever two or three are gathered in my name, there I am amidst them. When people unite in Jesus name, the celebration of the last Supper is transformed into the holiest celebration, known as Mass. This celebration has a deep significance to everyone and especially to the student body of St. Matthias. For Campus Ministry, Mass meant the preparation of themes and readings and performing a variety of songs. Their music enriched and added a unique ingredient that made the Mass a lively experience. The union through peace and love was the essence of the Mass that meant so much to the student body and that made them a stronger force throughout the year. This everlasting Catholic ceremony supplied them with a few moments ' peace and a few words of wisdom, that would pave the road to a better understanding of the Catholic tradition. 1 . At a recent Mass, the student body was treated to the delighttui sounds of the handbell choir. 2. Carmen Espindola participates in the cherished tradition of holding hands while reciting the Our Father. 3. Reading the Scripture during Mass requires courage and confidence, and Rosa Garcia exhibits both qualities gallantly. 4. Many special moments occur during a Mass, and Gladys Naranjo and Sister Mary Lynn ore part of just one. 5. If it weren ' t for the singing, the girls at Mass would find the ceremony long and lifeless. 6. Virginia Moreno needs a moment of personal prayer to make her Moss experience whole. 7. Pilar Aguero derives personal tranquility from leading the Seniors in the liturgy.
