Tis The Season . On the night of December 14, 1983, people coming to the annuo! Christmas Concert were in for a surprise. The director of the groups performing that night was no longer Mrs. Nancy Coonis, but Miss. Fran Johnston. The change wasn ' t radical, but it didn ' t go unnoticed either. Though the usual attack of nerves occurred before the concert, the girls went on the stage and gave their best. The performance went well, and once again, the Christmas Concert was a success. 1 Canticum Novum carefully watches Ms. Johnston ' s hand signals to lead them through singing notes. 2, Handbells get ready to perform one of the many beautiful songs they ' ve learned.

Togetherness The Senior Retreat was an ex peri- ence which had various meanings for all those who participated. For some it was a strengthening of their relationship with God, For others it was a representation of this relationship Moreover encounters did not stop here: for many girls it was a renewal of old friendships, as well as the meetings of new friends However, this renewal and strengthening of relationships was not all that went on during these three days During free time, the girls had the chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery which was one of the many pleasant surprises that were offered to them. In addition to group activities, the Seniors had a chance for solitude. It was the final activity which was for the majority the most memor- able. Everyone was given the opportun- ities to trade Kns Km presents and express their feelings on the retreat. Many beautiful things were said, but it was what Margaret Keel said that touched everyone, Make new fnends but keep the old, for one is silver and the other ' s Goldi

A Christmas Odyssey The 1983 Christmas Program wos based on a futuristic Christmas that showed us a mechanical Santa Claus that could instantly produce gifts at the push of a button. The futuristic Christmas lacked true significance The authentic Christmas story was recited by one of the characters in the skit and the Nativity scene was re-enacted by Maria Ledesma Mary , Rosa Arnaga Jo- seph , and Mr Trent Marshall Jr. (son of Mrs, Mills) as the baby Jesus. This brought back the true significance of Christmas the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ 1 Santa drops in to pass out condy cones to all the good little girls, witti ttie help of his elf Elena Viera 2 The Student Council acts out the nativity scene for the student body
