Nothing Like Spirit Week To Get Tlie Year Going. Spirit Week brings the school together in an atmosphere of healthy competition and fun. The week got off to a good start and reached a peak on Wednesday: Dress-Up Day, This event brought out all the weirdos of the school and the majority of the students participated. The Big-Little Sister Luncheon took place on Thursday of Spirit Week (as is tradition). The Junior class of 85 entered the ranks of upper doss women as they became big sisters to the Freshman class of 87 . The Seniors and their little sisters, the Sophomores, had a great time having lunch together. ' 1 Gloria Ramirez says, Indecency? What ' s thaf I 2, Juniors brought a toga atmosphere to their little sisters ' party, All we need is Julius Caesar , 3, I surely can go for some of them apples down yonder , exclaims Norma, Mwe twoo, says Monica. 4. Maria Ramos observes Clotilde Serrano groom her ea rs purr-fectiy for the day. 5. Are Mrs. Kiser and Elena Viero about to feast on delicious watermelons? Actually, they ' re for the students ' eating contest, 6. Las Chicas Menudo show their appreciation for their idols. 7. Room 104 was one of the rooms the Seniors invaded to give their little sisters a good lunch. 8. The Most Spirited cake, baked by Jackie Morejon. was won by Dolores Fonseca. Spirit Day Spent In A New Surrounding - Jhe School Perhaps the biggest change of the traditional Spirit Week was Spirit Day at the Park which turned out to be at schooi due to rainy weather. Though the setting changed, the winners of the Spirit Stick did not. The Class of 1985 won the Spirit Stick for the third consecutive year. Even though Spirit Week seems to bring out the spirit of competition between various classes, everyone wins as a result of the unity and sisterly love that exists and that the school is noted for. 1 Many faces, many expressions but one message - class spirit!. 2, Lily, Grisel, Rita, and Lourdes lead their class in an uplifting chieer. 3. Sweet Juniors, they are these, 4, Gabby and Viola proudly display their favorite rockers on their arms, painted by Bertha Rangel. Tatoos were created by the Drama Club. 5. The few, the loud, the cheerleaders. 6. Goofy, portrayed by Diana Bueno, felt right at home with his Junior friends as he made their day more cheerful. 7. Lovable Garfield, played by Martha Garibalde, takes time out before his nap to answer Elena Viera ' s questions about his personal life. 8. Kristi Martin moves her stuff to the up-beat sounds of Michael Jackson as her friends observe.
