Girls Count Too! Under the leadership of a new coach and four returning senior lettermen, the varsity volleyball team ended their season with a fine 10-5 record, including 2nd place in the SBC with a 5-1 record. Their lone SBC loss to 1st place Clyde highlighted the season, as St. Mary's was termed their toughest opponent, be- ing the first team to win a single game against them, but fell short in the match: 4-15, 15-8, 11-15. They also captured 2nd place in the Norwalk Invitational and were sectional runnerups. Cheryl Stamm CMVPJ and Mar- cia Faber were Varsity co-cap- tains, while Carla Nagel led the JVs to a 5-6 season. Love Hangover The 1976-77 girls' tennis team wound up a disappointing sea- son, losing four very close matches, but at the same time showed their real potential. lf the 2-3 decisions they lost would have been reversed, the team would have had a winning record. The adverse weather conditions were also a factor as four matches were cancelled. With only two seniors on the eight member team, fortunes are looking brighter for next year.
