TO THE GRADUATES OF 1959 It has long been our belief at St. Mary ' s that our students are not preparing for living but rather that they are already very much a part of life. We have sought first to build a truly stimulating environment and then we have en- couraged you to seek as needed the academic and personal guidance provided within this educational community. Let up hope that your experiences here, the decisions made in encountering them, and your subsequent evaluation of the tightness or wrongness of your de- cisions may have helped you to develop a firm and understanding basis for meeting future problems in living. Throughout your lifetime may each of you have in some reasonable degree the Serenity to accept the things you cannot change, the Courage to change the things you can and the Wisdom to know the difference.
