STUDENT COUNCIL PRESIDENT Irene Carbone served as the Presi- dent of Student Council this year. She was weIl-fitted for this position since she had been on the Council for four years. No amount of experience could prepare her as well as the training received from her mother, Mrs. Fred Carbone. Irene has done an efficient job in fostering closer cooperation be- tween the faculty and the girls, en- forcing the rules of the school, creating a feeling of good will between St. Mary's and other schools. The com- petent working of the Student Council in the field of inter-school activities was her greatest achievement. The senior class, as well as the whole school, is proud of its 1958- 1959 ShepherdesseSheila Sullivan. The daughter of a mother surpassed by few in generosity and successful achievements in both civic and religious affairs, Sheila is following closely in her mother's footsteps. She is a re- markable product of St. Mary's, having attended if for fourteen years. A friend To all and a taiented student, Sheila has been successful in many endeavors v-speech work, creative writing, and dramatics. The yearbook staff is proud to claim this year's Shepherdess as its copy editor. SHEPHERDESS 6 'le'm Q'. The Mosf Reverend URBAN J. VEHR, D.D. Bookworm bargains attract buyers at the fair. Later the same seniors recalled to us the life of Christ in the annual Seven Dolors play in honor of the Sisters' feast day. The seniors brought Santa to the school in their traditional Christmas party. It consisted of a skit about Christmas in Switzerland. The class letters were given to Santa and the presents were passed out. Swiss refreshments were next in order, then all left for a happy vacation. 49 Ill. 11 IIllllIIII III?
