To you, Sister Mary Georgetta, we dedicate this book. We are dedicating it to you in gratitude for your services to Saint Marys Academy. You have been at Saint Marys for eleven years, years Which have been filled With teach- ing, working, administering, and sacrificing. With the guidance of God and Our Lady you brought much good to old Saint Mary's; you instructed the girls; you guided the girls, and you showed them the road to heaven. In 1951 under the inspiration of God you moved Saint Marys to its new location. Under your guidance a magnificent school for Mary has been con- structed. The Holy Family has been your help. It has taken prayer, guidance, time, and energy. Your last years here have crowned your work. Now, Sister Georgetta you are leaving us. Spiritually our hearts are turned toward you in prayers 0t thanksgiving and remembrance. We dedicate to you this book in appreciation for all yOu have been and done for us. You will be remembered as the center and heart of Saint Marys Academy. Page 3 ibeclication His Excellency, Archbishop Urban J Vehr, dedicated our Saint Mary's Academy October 14, 1953. Under the simple, beautiful ritual of Holy Mother Church, Saint Mary's became a school blessed by God, and dedicated to His Immaculate Mother. Page 5 ...... g: ' ', I I I - a INVERITATE ETCARIDXTE . T k Tlae Awbbislyogfs Coat of A1772; :; OVQLUOVO! Loveliest of years, thisethe year of Mary! At Your school, Saint Mary's Academy, we want You to cherish a remembrance of it sweet and fair. So we have gone about the world to find and love You in Your every gentle guise. Within these pages You will see Yourself as Our Lady of Guadalupe, Your only apparition on the North American Continent; and as the Madonna of the Mass out Ireland way. We hope You,ll like Yourself as an oriental maiden; as an arctic snow beauty; as the Madonna of Tears; as an Ikon; and, as Our Lady of Fatima. We could not reproduce You as we love You best, Madonna of Our Secret Heart, for there You partake of the exquisite counterparts of all the others and more. It is a You too intangible, too fragile for reproduction. It is You, as each Saint Marys girl loves You, etched upon her heart. Page 6 Ca fenoloux- September 9 ............................. Mary Frances entered Saint Marys Academy at the age of five. Her twelve years at the Academy have merited for her the title of Shepherdess. Ever loyal, sincere and gracious, she is a true Saint Mary's girl. Upon graduation from the grade school Mary Frances was an honor scholarship win- ner to the high school. During her senior year she has represented her class in the student council. Page 10 Our 4,ng 0K guaclafulpe, Waolonna ofjmerica Across the peaks and plains the winds are blowing.
