Though the League is but two years old, St. Mary's Girl's basketball team is the starftlof a dynasty. ln 1976 they swarmed to a 20-2 season and in 1977 the lady Bucs followed up a powerful showing with a 16-O league . And heading into the PPL as the top seated championship team. The Pirates are a young team with only one senior member, Captain julie Meyers. The other starters are juniors, including Dana Howe, Jeanine Rodriguez, Kathy Ferguson, and Roseanne Smith. The bench has con- tributed heavily with super-sub Sophomore Sandi Middlemist helping out in Pirate Victories. The Pirate For- tunes will become a reality as the District and State tournaments roll around . But come time for state, St. Mary's should again yield one of the strongest AA schools inthe state . I -Kathy Ferguson and Dave Santistevan This year the St. Marys Matmen with a young team took an impressive third place in the DSB Tomnament. They also took fifth in the Woodland Park Tomnament.
