A . f L Curtis Smith Qupper leftj, in his third year at St. Markis, coaches I.V. Cross Country and Soccer. His teaching duties include Eighth and Ninth Grade Eng- lish and he is also sponsor to the Remarks-a-lot. After earning an A.B. from Davidson College and a M.A.T. at Duke University, he worked as a Peace Corps volun- teer in West Africa. Bobbi Mailer flower leftj, in her seventh year at St. Markis, in addition to teaching Fifth Grade Language Arts and Sixth Grade Social Studies, established the reading and study skills courses presently taught in grades 7-12. Mrs. Mailer has earned a B.A. from Flo- rida State University and an M.S. from Syracuse Uni- versity. After arriving at St. Mark's in 1970 and serving as Dean of Students from '71 through '78, Mr. Herbert Meyer fupper rightj has now devoted his time to teach- ing Upper School English courses. With an A.B. from Emory University and an M.A. in English from Middle- bury, Mr. Meyer is in his second year as Senior Class sponsor and also serves as Varsity Soccer Coach. Andrew Mailer flower rightj has completed his elev- enth year at St. Mark's. He teaches Upper School Eng- lish and sponsors The ReMarIcer, the St. Mark's chap- ter of Cum Laude, and the Ski Club. Mr. Mailer received his B.B.A. at the University of Wisconsin and his M.A. from Middlebury College.

Ei ' kklk in ietwg E , ,. , ' Frank jones Cupper leftj named as Chairman of the English Department last year, has just completed his third year at St. Mark's. In addition to his seventh and tenth grade teaching duties, Mr. Jones is the Tenth Grade Sponsor and coaches Middle School baseball. He holds a B.A. from Brown University and an M.A. from the University of Keele. Frank Murray flower leftl is a member of the Class of 1967 and returned to St. Mark's to teach in 1973. His current duties include teaching English 11 and English 12, coaching I.V. Tennis, and sponsoring the Senior Studies '81 Project. Mr. Murray holds a B.A. from Wil- liams College, an M.A.T. from the University of Massa- chusetts, and an M.A. from Middlebury College. English Department john Connolly flower rightj, completing his thirty- first year at St. Mark's, teaches Middle School English. Last spring he received the Meadows Foundation Dis- tinguished Teacher's Award. He received his A.B. from Boston University and a Diplome from the Universite de Besancon.

Kim Cagne Qupper leftj just completed his fourth year at St. Mark's. His teaching duties include Eighth Grade English and Social Studies and Senior Civics and English. Outside the classroom, Mr. Cagne is the Eighth Grade Sponsor and helps coach Varsity Wres- tling and Middle School Cross Country. In addition, he has just completed his second year as sponsor of the Marksmen. Mr. Cagne holds a B.A. from Duke Univer- sity. Bill Flemming flower lefty is currently completing his tenth year at St. Mark's. His major responsibilities lie with College Counseling and the English Depart- ment, in which he teaches both Senior and junior Eng- lish. Mr. Flemming, who holds a B.A. from Princeton and an M.A. from Middlebury, is the Varsity Tennis coach and sponsor of the Senior Studies '81 Project. james Mclnerny Qupper rightj arrived at St. Mark's this year as a Woodrow Wilson Fellow. He teaches in both the English and Social Studies Departments as well as coaching cross country and track. Mr. Mclnerny holds a B.A. from the University of Texas. In her fourteenth year at St. Mark's, Anne Freeman flower rightj teaches Upper School English. Dr. Free- man received her B.A. from North Texas State Univer- sity, and her M.A. and Ph.D. from U.T.A. She also attended the University College of Dublin and Har- vard.
