In addition to his seventh and tenth grade teaching duties, Mr. Jones is the Tenth Grade Sponsor and coaches Middle School baseball. He holds a B.A. from Brown University and an M.A. from the University of Keele. Frank Murray flower leftl is a member of the Class of 1967 and returned to St. Mark's to teach in 1973. His current duties include teaching English 11 and English 12, coaching I.V. Tennis, and sponsoring the Senior Studies '81 Project. Mr. Murray holds a B.A. from Wil- liams College, an M.A.T. from the University of Massa- chusetts, and an M.A. from Middlebury College. English Department john Connolly flower rightj, completing his thirty- first year at St. Mark's, teaches Middle School English. Last spring he received the Meadows Foundation Dis- tinguished Teacher's Award. He received his A.B. from Boston University and a Diplome from the Universite de Besancon.

Kennith Owens Cupper leftj has been at St. Markls for twenty-three years. He is the Financial Director, Director of Admissions, Lion and Sword sponsor, and a member of the Curriculum Committee. He also teaches Upper and Middle School Math. Mr. Owens received his B.A. from Baylor, and his M.A.T. from Michigan. john Bednar flower leftj, a first year member of the St. Mark's community, has assumed the position of Director of Development. Dr. Bednar also teaches Upper School French and is a Senior advisor. He received his B.A. from Princeton University and his Licence de lettres modernes and Doctrat from the Uni- versity de Besancon. Roger West fupper rightj has been at St. Markis for seventeen years as Director of Facilities. He is the I.V. Football Coach and Assistant Varsity Track Coach. Mr. West is also a Freshman Advisor. Mr. West received his B.S. from Eastern Illinois. He is currently working on his M.B.A. at the University of Dallas. Sherman Zimmerman flower rightj completed his first year as Director of Student Services and his fifth year at St. Mark's in the Physical Education Depart- ment. He is the Varsity Track Coach and Assistant Coach for the Varsity and I.V. Football teams. Mr. Zimmerman received his B.A. from Howard Payne University.

A . f L Curtis Smith Qupper leftj, in his third year at St. Markis, coaches I.V. Cross Country and Soccer. His teaching duties include Eighth and Ninth Grade Eng- lish and he is also sponsor to the Remarks-a-lot. After earning an A.B. from Davidson College and a M.A.T. at Duke University, he worked as a Peace Corps volun- teer in West Africa. Bobbi Mailer flower leftj, in her seventh year at St. Markis, in addition to teaching Fifth Grade Language Arts and Sixth Grade Social Studies, established the reading and study skills courses presently taught in grades 7-12. Mrs. Mailer has earned a B.A. from Flo- rida State University and an M.S. from Syracuse Uni- versity. After arriving at St. Mark's in 1970 and serving as Dean of Students from '71 through '78, Mr. Herbert Meyer fupper rightj has now devoted his time to teach- ing Upper School English courses. With an A.B. from Emory University and an M.A. in English from Middle- bury, Mr. Meyer is in his second year as Senior Class sponsor and also serves as Varsity Soccer Coach. Andrew Mailer flower rightj has completed his elev- enth year at St. Mark's. He teaches Upper School Eng- lish and sponsors The ReMarIcer, the St. Mark's chap- ter of Cum Laude, and the Ski Club. Mr. Mailer received his B.B.A. at the University of Wisconsin and his M.A. from Middlebury College.
