They were again regional champions and placed fifth in the 1979 State Championships. Under the guidance of Coaches john Stutsman and Ken Merten, the team metamorphosed from a group of indi- viduals into a dangerous, fast-breaking team. Offensive standouts were senior Keith Kadesky and juniors Bo Lett and Richard Wesson. Seniors jeb Beckwich and Ieff Stager were indispensable on defense. Sophomore Mark Hurst and freshman Todd Clark and jeff Rasansky also contributed to the Lion effort. Senior goalie Kevin Kadesky was ranked as one of the best in the state at his position. For their performances at the state competition, Kevin Kadesky received All-State Second Team status, and Bo Lett received All-State Honorable Mention. With a 20-7 record, the tradition of Lion excellence in water polo remains. , 1? T Qzfes e . 5 . . C' .Nw L swag . .fx Q., 1-.4 V' few? X .mg . ...Q . viva W a V 'F new W Q 'gm Nw Z.. Ford and Marengo-Rowe finished in the top ten and received all-SPC status. Upton and Lett received Honorable Mention for finishing in the top twenty.
