This summer, the incoming freshmen once again travelled to the Pecos Wilder- ness for the seventh annual Freshman Trip. The trip is designed to better stu- dents' understanding of themselves and others, as Well as unite the class. During the trip, there were many activi- ties to both instruct and entertain the campers. Students learned how to pitch tents, mark trails, read maps and rock climb. Each student underwent a twenty- four hour solo, giving each individual an opportunity for solitude and introspec- tion. There were also discussions on the geology, the flora, and the fauna of the region. The student project this year was to continue the clean-up of the camp- grounds. The weather was perhaps not as good as in the past because of the large amount of rain. The rain did not, how- ever, seriously affect the activities on the trip.
