This year, seventeen percent of the students in the senior class were rec- ognized as National Merit Semifinalists. Placing among the top half of one percent on the PSAT! NMSQT were seniors Oscar Estell, Louis Fried- man, Al Cilbertson, Michael Herndon, Charles McCreary, Ion Mosle, Greg Raskin, David Stod- dart, Charles Sweet, Iohn West, and Eric Yollick. Ten seniors earned National Merit Letters of Commendation from the National Merit Scholar- ship Corporation this year. The seniors so hon- ored were: Scott Berger, Bryce Chapman, Pat Cro- nin, Kurt Eichenwald, Duffy Graham, Iason Kincher, Brandt Miller, Charles Munson, Frank Rolfe, and lim Wasser- man. Lion and Sword m S Cum Laude Under the direction of Mr. Herb Meyer, the Lion and Sword Society served the vital function of guid- ing visitors around the campus and providing support at such school functions as the Christmas Party, Commencement and Miniature School. Members are elected to the Lion and Sword by existing members of the society, the President and Vice-President of the jun- ior and senior classes and the President and Vice- President of the Student Council. Lion and Sword allows me to serve the school in many vital areas. - Frank Rolfe '79 In its twentieth year of existence, the St. Mark's chapter of the Cum Laude Society held its annual induction in the spring. Up to 10? of the Iunior class and 20'Z1of the Senior class are chosen for their academic attainments. Mr. Andrew Mailer is the President of the school's chapter. Members of the Class of 1979 inducted in their junior year are: Louis Friedman, Duffy Graham, Ion Mosle, David Stod- dart, Charles Sweet, and Eric Yollick.

Under the supervision of sponsor Ken Walters, and Program Director Rick Rasansky, KRSM expanded its air time to five hours a day in its fourth year of oper- ation. With an increased listening audi- ence, this year's marathon netted over 51600, lasting for sixty-one hours.
