MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT i 2 VV. R Ashby Ctop leftj became a member of the St. Marlds Mathematics Department in 1968. Dr. Ashby coaches Middle School football and soccer, and is coordinator of the Middle School Math contest. He holds BS, M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from New Mex- ico State University, University of Houston, and North Texas State University. John Crews Ctop rightj has completed his ninth year of teaching as a member of the St, Marlds Mathematics Department. Mr. Crews is the coach of PE. Golf and has earned BA and M.A. degrees. He was educated at Florida State University and the University of Texas. Jack HOIIOD Qbottom righty has been the Head of the Mathematics Department since he first came to St. Mark's in 1971. Mr. Hollon is the sponsor of the Environmental Council and the coach of the Middle School tennis team. He holds BA. and BS degrees from Rice University and an M.A. from the University of Texas.

Mrs. Coby teaches French to both Middle and Upper School students. She holds a B.A. from the University of Dallas and an M.A. from Middlebury College. Paul Weadon Cbottom centerj, a 1972 arrival at St. Mark's, teaches both the German and Russian languages. Mr. Weadon is an American Field Service Representative and acts as coach to the table tennis team. He has received a BA. from Brigham Young University and an MA. from the University ot Ari- zona. I R l. in l 5- 1 ,Q 1' T ,JK Bob Kohler Ctopb, a 1963 St. Mark's alumnus, returned to St. Marks in 1971 to teach Spanish. Mr. Kohler coaches the junior varsity cross-country team and the soccer team. l-le is also a part of the Middle School Outing Club, the Pecos Wilderness staff and the Middle School admissions staff. He holds B.A. and M.A. degrees, and has attended Aus- tin College and S.M.U.

Owens Ctopb has been a teacher in the Mathematics area since 1957 when he came to St. Marks He is currently the sponsor of the Senior Class and he coaches B team baseball. Mr. Owens attended Baylor University, Michigan State Univer- sity, S.M.U., and T.C.U. He holds B.A. and M.A.T. degrees. John D. STUTSVTWBD Cbottom lettj has completed his second year in the St. Marks community. Cur- rently Mr. Stutsman is the head coach of the sailing club and is the assistant coach ot swimming and is if Be, Qu g t our X g My water polo. He attended Wesleyan College where he received his B.A., Bonn University, and Michigan State University where he earned his M.A. D. Wayne VViISOn Jr. Cbottom rightb has taught mathematics at St. Marlds since 1961. He is the director ot the summer school program. He earned an A.A. from Del Mar College, M.Ed. from the Uni- versity of Texas, and an M.A. at Louisiana State Uni- versity. Mr. Wilson also attended the University of Maryland.
