Whatley has been the Headmaster of St. Iviarkts since 1969, when he returned to the school after spending three years at Albuquerque Academy. Mr, Whatley received his AB. and Ed.M. degrees from Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania. Before he went to Albuquerque, Mr. Whatiey spent tour years in the History Department at St. Markts and vvas head of that department from 1962 until 1966. He ncvv teaches US. History. ts?

John J. COr1i'iOIIy Qupper lettj, vvho has com- pleted his twenty-sixth year as a member of the tac- ulty, came to St. Mark's in 1949. Currently, he is the Head of the Upper School, Senior Master, and a member of the Curriculum Committee, as well as the Discipline, Tutorial, and Admissions Committees. Mr. Connolly has taught Latin in the past and is currently a member of the English Department. He holds A.B. and M.A. degrees, and has attended Boston Col- lege, Boston University, Tufts University, and the Universite de Besancon. Herb Meyer Cupper rightj came to St. Mark's in 1970 as an English teacher and has been Dean of Students since 1972. Mr. Meyer is the head coach of the varsity soccer team and is sponsor of the Stu- dent Council and the Lion and Sword Society. He earned a B.A. at Emory University and his M.A. at Middlebury College in 1971. He is a member of the English Department. Michael Teitelman qle-ftp, the Head of the Middle School, has been at St. Mark's since 1969. He holds a B.A. from Albright College and an M.A. from Brown University. Mr. Teitelman is a teacher in the Social Studies Department and also senfes as the Director of Admissions.
