Jody emerged from the tall tumber country of Louisiana In Sep
tember of 1950 to come to St Marks and further has educatlon He
entered the Sophomore class as a boarder and was soon known
throughout the Upper School Luttle Joes favorute varsity sport as
football but he has been a great help to the soccer and track
teams as well Thus year he was elected a co captam of the soccer
squad In has spare time he tells tall tales studies automobules lutts
weughts and breaks hearts
Next fall Jody plans to enter Duke Unlversuty where he wlll study
to be an engineer and perhaps play some football too When he
leaves St Marks he wull take with hum an abnluty to get along wuth
other people whlch has helped htm make many fruends at school
Wnth thus asset to and ham he should do well nn the
years to come

In the fall of 1948 Carl entered TC D as a member
Carl immediately set to work and establashed the notable
reputation which he now enloys He has always been a
valuable asset to the class Year after year his popularity
has grown and the fact that he is one of the school favor
:tes is not hard to understand when one is aware of the
way the student body feels toward him This year Carl
was elected President of the Senior Class President of
Student Council President of the St Marks History Club
and Editor in Chief of the Marksmen
After Carl graduates from St Marks he plans to enter
M I T where he will study Chemical Engineering We feel
sure that whatever Carl does in the future will be well
done and that wherever he goes he will enloy the same
popularity that he has received here

Starting In the slxth grade he has amassed a brrl
llant record both In scholarship and un athletncs Has
name has appeared on the Honor Roll nearly every
gradsng period since hrs entrance into the school He
lettered In band once and while nn the Upper School
has lettered three times In each of the magor sports
In the past year he received additional honors as a
football tru captain and the captarn of the basketball
team Thus year he IS an actuve member In the Letter
men s Club and the Hxstory Club He rs also a member
ot the Student Council Walts record un St Marks
has been a very tune one and we at St Mark s are
sure that nt wull contmue to be one ot the best as he
goes through college
