The f.?islzoP's elnatcje After four years of operation, the Cathedral School for Boys is like the senior class. It is graduating. The school began in 1946 with high ideals, but she was beginning her bid for success. Throughout her four years of operation, she grew to fulfill those high ideals, and has now achieved high regard in the field of education. Nothing that is alive can stand still. As the Cathedral School has progressed in the past, so she shall in the future. She will continue in those ideals and provide sound Christian academic training for the young men of the Southwest. This can be done more effectively by means of the step that is to be taken with the beginning of this next term. She will join with another fine institution, the Texas Country Day School, to form a united school that will be called St. Mark's School of Texas. St. Mark's School will have the physical plant we have long hoped for and needed. There will be an adequately appointed classroom building, a modern and well-equipped gymnasium and a beautifully furnished dormitory. A combined fac- ulty will provide the best instruction available to you and those who come after you to form St. Mark's School, and there will be Christian teachings that make men of you and equip you for an adventurous life in this world. St. Marlc's School is as close to my heart as the Cathedral School has been for these four years. We are graduating into something bigger now. Those who have gone before you have as much a part in this new venture as you have. Many of you will be students at St. Mark's. I am made happy by this fact. Of those alumni who have gone before, of those who with the graduation exercises this year become alumni of the Cathedral School, and of those who will continue on with us, I make but one request: that you will continue to support that in which you believe. A school such as St. Mark's will be worthy of the same support you have given the Cathedral School, and all of you should remember that you have had a part in establishing a school we love and cherish. It is my hope that you will transfer your devotion to this new school.

.aff ,, r The student body actively participates in Morning Prayer and Sacred Studies which are held under the direction of the Rev. Fr. Bothe, the school's Chaplain. In addition to this, early services are held each morning in the Chapel of the dorm- itory for the boarding students at 7:00. On Sundays, the boarding students attend the 8:00 service at the Cathedral. In both the early services and the Moming Prayer ser- vices the priest is assisted by the students. At 9:15 the procession begins from the school building to the Cathedral with the entire student body and faculty attending. A welcomed addition to the service of Morning Prayer is the music, with Mr. Alec Wyton, recently of England, as the organist and choirmaster.
