COMMA DING OFFICER . t ' - . g,:'U.' .4 Q ,O 'N' A 115 CAPTAIN E. DALE DEWEESE, USN Captain Deweese was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on 26 December 1933. In 1954 Captain Deweese enlisted in the Navy. In August 1956, following training as an Aviation Cadet, he was designated a Naval Aviator. During his naval career Captain Deweese has served as Operations Officer, Fighter Squadron 211, NAS Miramar San Diego from 1963 to 19665 Flight Instructor, Fighter Squadron 124, NAS Miramar from 1966 to 1967, Aircraft Handling Officer aboard USS F. D. ROOSEVELT QCVA-421 from 1967 to 1969, Executive Officer, Fighter Squadron 124, NAS Miramar from 1970 to 1971, Executive Officer, Fighter Squadron 126, NAS Miramar from 1971 to 19725 Commanding Officer, Fighter Squadron 126 from 1972 to 1973, Navigator aboard USS CONSTELLATION CCVA-641 from 1973 to 1975, and in the Politico-Military Division IOP-613 of OPNAV from 1976 to 1978. Captain Deweese is a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School, the Naval Command and Staff School, the National War College and George Washington University. Captain Deweese is married to the former Ellen Patrica Mucha of Conventry, Rhode Island. Captain and Mrs. Deweese have two daughters, loan-Marie and Michelle, and reside in San Diego.

Navy as an enlisted man and studied electronics in 1946 u 53 In june 1949, he entered the United States Naval Academy as a Midshipman and graduated an Ensign on 5 June 19 As a commissioned Officer, he served on board the USS MCKEAN IDDR-7841 as Electronics Officer, Navigator and CIC Officer from 1953-1955. From August 1955 to October 1956, he was assigned duty as Flag Lieutenant and Aide to Commander Cruiser Division TWO. From December 1957 to january 1960 he was assigned to duty with the Bureau of Naval Weapons Representative Pomona, California, performing duties of Measurement Standards Officer. From january 1960 to june 1961 he served 85 Commanding Officer USS DUVAL COUNTY ILST-7583. He was appointed LCDR in November 1962. From 1965 to OCf0be' 1968 he was assigned aboard USS LONG BEACH ICGINJ-91 where he served in the Engineering Department as DCA and Electrical Officer and in the Operations Department as Combat information Center Officer and Operations Officer. He W35 appointed Commander on 1 july 1967. In September 1970 he was ordered to place in commission and command USS SAE BERNARDINO ILST-11891 homeported in San Diego, California. In September 1972 he was ordered to Operational Test anf Evaluation Force Pacific, San Diego, California where he served as Director of Combat Support Systems and Direct0f 0 Programs. He was promoted to Captain on 1 September 1973. In December 1974, CAPT ROACH was ordered to Washlflgtolzi D.C. for duty in OPNAV as Special Assistant for Research and Development Coordination to Director RDT8fE. He assume command of the USS ST LOUIS on 17 February 1977. On O2 june 1978 CAPT ROACH was assigned the dual statusi Commanding Officer, USS ST LOUIS and Commander Amphibious Squadron SEVEN. On 4 November 1978 CAPT RQAC turned over command of the USS ST LOUIS to his reliefand continued in his assignment as Commander AmPh'b'OuS Squadron SEVEN. 4
