. usiness A U ual This year a variety of electives were offered by the business department. These classes ranged from Accounting, Bookkeeping and Economics to Business Law and Typing. Students in the accounting classes learned the fundamentals of accounting. The class was devised to introduce Juniors and Seniors to the basics of accounting and to prepare students for college courses. ' In the business law courses, students were in- troduced to various speakers who explained the different aspects of business to them. The students were then allowed to evaluate the con- tents of the speech. In the economics classes, students studies the fluctuating economy. racticing H T Become Harmoniou Band members were able to in- crease their talents through the study of Music Theory I and Music Theory II. Form, score reading and basic conducting were all taught by the band's director Mr. Leo Henning. By their studies in melody, tone and tex- ture, students explored the classical music about them and tried to become more harmonious. Music Theory I was offered to any Junior or Senior who wished to take it. Music Theory II was only open to Seniors who had already taken Music Theory I. The main objective of these course is to develop in students an understanding and technique for performing music in professional circles. 146 f Music Top: Mr. Henning leads the band in concert before the Mothers club.
