Again the St. Laurence math depart- ment rose to the needs of the students. Students were required to take algebra and geometry their Freshman and Sophomore years. However, for those students who . wanted to expand their math knowledge, the possibilities were colossal. Calculus II was again offered to those who had com- 5, pleted Calculus. Math Analysis, - Trigonometry, Algebra and basic math concepts were all studied. In these ways, students were allowed to maximize their math studies to the fullest extent. The math department also formed its own math club. In this club, many students were able to compete in various nationwide tests. Math! 135

Freshmen are required to take World History. In this class, students learn about the beginnings of history, from ancient Rome to the present day. Sophomores, who took a history course, were confronted with the amazing world of European History. This course evaluates the history of Europe from the French Revolution to the present day. All juniors are compelled to take a Gur course in U.S. History. Here for the first time, students had the diverse Mr. Rezek. These fortunate students learned about points, spot quizzes and warnings as an extra bonus to their knowledge of history. As an elective to Seniors, Chicago History and Current Events were offered.
