1 Sutter Keachez The freshman soccer team got off to a good start under the coaching of Br. Verre and Mr. Gagner. The team did well despite the fact that a majority had never played soccer before. The members of the team learned the fundamentals of soccer, and will definitely be a credit to the sophomore team next year. The sophomore soccer team had an outstanding season this year, compiling a record of 10-5-3. Many players improved greatly since freshman year, as a result of hard work put in by both the players and much time and effort from Coach William Miller. The team was lead in scoring by Peter Perisic who had 14 goals and 10 assists Top Right: Jim Sadecki attempts to catch an oppo- nent. Middle Left: After stealing the ball a lone Vik- ing pulls ahead. Lead by co-captains Ken Schum, Bruce Meiner, and Jim O'Brien, the Varsity Cross Country Team advanced to the Sec- tionals meet for the 6th year in a row. The team, coached by Mr. Murphy, work hard all season, and had a dual meet record of 9-3. The team finished 8th in Catholic League, and advanced to the Districts meet, held at Bullfrog lake, where they took 3rd place. This qualified them for sec- tionals, where, unfortunately, they en- countered tragedy upon tragedy, but finished a respectable 16th place. The team was largely composed of underclassmen, and looks forward to a strong team next year, which will be lead by co-captains Jim Moran and Jim Roach. Cross Country f 155
