We chose green and yellow as the class colors and the Talisman rose our class flower. The Clays hurried quickly by, but between classes we managed to organize a Glee Club and made our first appearance when we sang for the Alumnae party of October 24. Our BIG day was October 28 when we nervously went on duty for the first time . . . one whole hour for P.M. care and only one patient! Our final initiation was at the Masquerade Party on October 30 held at Ruby's. By the time November 25 rolled around we were really ready for a four day Thanksgiving break. December was our busiest month yet. Our activities included the second appear- ance of the Glee Club at the District's party on the 17th, and our own Christmas Party the next day. December 20 half the class packed and left on a week's vacation, and the old year was rung out by the other half, finishing their vacation, which had started on December 27. Back to classes again, and report cards on January 23. C Do you really send them home? D We promised to work harder in classes, but really spent our time memorizing the Nightingale Pledge. It was old stuff by February, but by Capping on March 1, 1955, we were so thrilled that not one of the 23 of us stumbled over even one word. Our Capping songs were sung again on March 17 when the Glee Club presented its final performance over WCOM on the Catholic Hour. On St. Joseph's Day, March 19, the Student Sodality of St. Joseph's Hospital sponsored a play, The Vocation Room We started Specials on April 6, when Pat spent two weeks in Central Supply. April is a pretty month for a spring dance, and our semi-formal April Showers dance on the 16th was a wonderful success. On May 1 we participated in a May Day Procession, followed by a tea for our mothers. The rest of May, from the 4th to the 25th, we spent on vacation. Then on the 26th Pat and Liz turned up in Surgery. On May 29 we delighted our audience with a Style Show in the Class Day Program. The thrill of Specials was followed with the thrill of working 3:00 to 11:00, while we started in June. August brought a farewell? party for Miss Moats. This was held at Suzie's. Then there we were . . . looking for a new sponsor, who turned out to be Mrs. Hynes. Summer had hurried by quickly . . . then on September 2, 1953, we were Juniors, and a few days later it was we who were throwing a weiner roast for the new kids . Our first year . . . fun-filled with Birthday parties each month and really packed with new thrilling and exciting experiences, WHS ended- To start our second year we elected Annabelle as President, Phyllis, Vice-President, Jeanne, Treasurer, and P.V. as Secretary. -15- afimwa-2 J-K'au..awrve'i.d'iag.1 '.sf .1, . , . . . ,Q - -1 .ef--.
