There were some smiles, but more nervous anxiety; laughter, but much lamentation; dispersed utterances of optimism, but an overall pessimistic refrain. A significant drama was also enacted at Saint Joseph ' s College this year. Realizing their tremendous endowment with numerous potentialities, individuals were not satisfied to remain stagnant. Students constantly advanced along life ' s path, where their abilities were brought to fruition. Creativity was awakened; goals objecti- fied; religion instilled; and intellect enkindled. Each individual was trained for a unique leadership in the world-wide drama awaiting her. Piety, dignity and wisdom were mainsprings of a stimulating influence effected by the educators in the molding of women. However, advancement will not cease with the culmination of school life. The graduate will continue to enrich all the dimensions of her personality and offer her varied talents for her country and the Greater Glory of God. Envisioning a mightier womanhood, the faculty of Saint Joseph ' s College aims to secure for each student a culti- vated intellect, a strong will, and a staunch character. Through their zeal- ous efforts, these educators guide the in- dividual in the attainment of her goal and equip her with traits which will en- able her advancement in wisdom, grace, and age before God and man. Words could never express the gratitude of the graduates to their faculty, but their suc- cesses along life ' s path will reflect their feelings. THE MOST REVEREND BRYAN J. These words of John Donne convey the idea under- lying the social aspect of man ' s nature. As a social being each individual will encounter vari- ous interpersonal relationships during a lifetime. Success in these experiences will depend greatly upon one ' s ability to participate in social situations with confidence and poise. Cognizant of this fact, Saint Joseph ' s College provides for its students a program of ex- tra-curricular and co-curricular activities. The interworking and interaction, flowing from participation in such organiza- tions, help students attain the spirit of cooperation and har- mony necessary for progress in social endeavors. Students advancing through this phase of life en- counter a wide range of ex- periences. Their daily happen- ings, whether significant or in- significant, formal or informal, joyous or sad, all reflect the atmosphere and spirit which prevail on campus. Though the atmosphere varies with the mood of the occasion, the spirit of faith, hope, and kinship is unchanging. With the passing of time, many college events will fade into oblivion. How- ever, that same spirit will ever abound as the students move forward in their chosen role of life.
