Q Cty Five score and five years aao the first Sisters of Saint Ioseph came to America to sow the seed of faith in such fields of the New Vtlorld as would be given to them to tend. It was their answer to the call of Catholic Action and as a means to further the end they had in view, they established Saint Ioseph's Academy on the banks of the Mississippi. The school arew and prospered and sent, year after year, noble recruits to other mission fields, some as sisters . . . more as mothers. The call to Catholic Action is a challenqe today. Have we the courage to heed it? It means liviriq our lives in conformity to the laws of nature and of nature's Cwod . . . lives that will be a preparation for an eternity of peace and happiness. As memf bers of the Mystical Body of Christ to concern ourselves with the life and activity of every other member . . . to qive and not to count the cost, to labor and not to ask rewardg to fight and not to heed the woundsl The class of nineteen hundred forty-one we confidently hope, will make no break in the Iona line of traditions established by those who went forth from our beloved school. Vlfe, too, will carry with us the ideals ever put before us and, true to God and to ourselves, will so work that little portion of Gods vineyard allotted to us that We can take our place in that lona line of graduates who have led the Way.
