But I found the words stopped before I could E EI utter them, for I was startled. The room was dim with lights that Hickered X Igl Il UI E in the breeze and the good old Rec Hall was a strange place. At first E E I was under the impression that I had rudely sIept.through a fancy dress B1 party, for the classmates whom I had last seen Iaughmgly engaged ln games E now appeared like pictures of The Old-Fashioned Girl. Their dresses were Ig Ion , ruffled, and flowered things, displaying bits of lace and knots of rib- I3 E 1, g Y 11 ll 1 11 1 11 1 11 1 ' fi on. et t ey a wore cot es o t e same sty e, so my rst conc usion xg E could not be ri ht. And besides--their hair, lately shingle-bobbed, now hung E E g lg in long curls and their demure manner was unusual. E I3 lil E Close beside me stood a tall girl who turned, and looking in my direction, E E said: Have you seen my fan, Jane? At this I was ready to tell her that B21 E1 I had no idea as to the whereabouts of her fan and that my name did not gl E happen to be Jane. But here a voice just behind me answered: Here it is.
