After a day of learning, these Seniors pack up their knowledge and are off to teach CCD at St. Michael ' s. The YCS roster of activities included a visit to Bridgeport, Connecti- cut. The girls arrived armed with Yuletide cheer and homebaked goodies. Sophomores, Monica Foge and Leslie Langworthy ready a fresh batch of cookies for delivery. A spiritual highlight for the pre-holiday festivities at the Hilt was a Christmas Mass celebrated by Father McNamara. Organized by the Seniors, each class contributed to the offertory proces- sion with banners, Christmas decorations, and symbolic gifts. This Mass also previewed the new Canon. Here juniors Chris Mullin and Cathy Brosnahan receive Communion. 69

YCS President Donna Nagengast and moderator Sister Xavier gather with members of the folk group for a re- hearsal. Our spirited guitarists provide the accompaniment for the Hill ' s Folk Masses. To Be Alive is the theme of Senior 107 ' s Religion sessions, even at 8:30 in the morn- ing. Ava Schoentube takes the initiative as class coordinator while Ginger Cregorowicz and Anne Marie Sheehan activate their dancing skills. The remainder of the class is happy to participate in a Christian get together wbere each girl can express herself as she feels her individual spirit alive and free. 0 ' H

' ' Summit The Summit is the news center of our school. It combines the everyday events of school life with awareness, creativity and per- severance of the reporters, thereby producing a paper enjoyed both by students and faculty. The staff is composed of interested Sopho- mores and Juniors selected by the editor and moderator. Requirements for a Summit reporter in- clude successful completion of a journalism workshop given by the club moderator. Sister Antonia. The girls are taught various aspects of writing for the paper. Fl-l i! To help the Summit have a clean, creative atmosphere, press aides Peggy Calluzzi and Alice Conlon employ a variety of methods in keeping the press room spotless. Day is done for the Summit staff, but many more hours remain before the finished copy is sent to the printer. After an afternoon of hard work, editor Katie Calluzzi leads the staff in a moment of relaxation. A combination of talent and good times results in a lively school paper. Gathering the current news from all sides of the Hill is not an easy task. Sr. Antonia, moderator, E. Delasandro feature editor, R. Fedele assistant editor, G. Palladino reporter and K. Galluzzi editor, combine ideas for the next issue of the Summit. 70
