Cheerleaders and Boosters Instilling spirit at a pep rally before a game, cheerleaders Adele ChecchI, Barbara Fugazzi, Kathy Foster and Ronnie Sarnese get fans in the mood with some songs. The way the Varsity plays depends not only on their skill but also on the reaction of the fans and stirring up enthusiasm is something the Cheerleaders do best. Adding to the Cheerleaders spirit are Boosters, kneeling, Jane Ernst, co-cap- tain and Gloria Ryan, captain. First row, Anne Marie Brown, Tricia McKenna, Marian Walsh and Kathy Collins, second row, Debi Keenan, Regina Fedele, Cathy Blake, Alice Conlon, Monica Foge and coach Lorraine Wiest. Coming up with the rebound, Caryl Ittner looks for a helping hand in leading the offense against St. Joseph-by-the-Sea. Doc Fitzsimmons comes around to block Caryl ' s opponent and help set up a two point play. Taking set shots is part of the Varsity ' s warm up before a game. As Stephanie Woods rebounds, Carol Barbieri, Lucy Buono and Meg McNally wait to grab the next rebound. Guarding such a skilled player as St. Peter ' s Denise Hunt can prove to be a tiresome job, but Stephanie Woods tries her best to prevent Denise from scoring. Serving as guard Stephanie usually comes through with the rebounds. 63
