Expression in different form Typing skill demands careful concentration and constant attention to the manuscript. First year students find ttie typewriter a challenge to their manual dexterity. Mary Krause, Pat Shanahan, Mary DiCregorio and Sharon Burke strive to increase speed while maintaining accuracy. Developing shorthand skills through class participation is the routine in Steno class. Senior Anne Goff projects a number of steno outlines to be corrected and criticized by the class. A relaxing break from the regular routine of Typing class is the chance to try art typing. First and second year stu- dents alike anticipate drawing with the typewriter, lean Hogan and Donna Nagengast arrange a new display of typewritten masterpieces. 32

There ' s always a price to pay when you don ' t get all your Math homework done at home. Although a demerit doesn ' t seem too likely for freshmen Monica Robinson and Terry Capone, they ' re missing out on the joke Diane Cannavo is telling. Pausing in thp middle of solving a Geometry problem, Emiyn Bodnar looks to Marge Potenza and Estelle Granite for a reassuring smile. If in the end her solution is correct she will be both satisfied and relieved. Geometry can be fun! is the phrase coined by Mr. Dernback as he illustrates the concept of points to sophomores Diane Sweeney Donna Yamarone. The Geo-board is a helpful visual aid in explaining the prin- ciples of Tenth Year Math. The quiet of an empty homeroom provides the proper atmosphere for juniors R. Thompson and M. A. Corley to begin their Trig homework. Solving the complexities of Eleventh Year Math is a joy in the morning to juniors Pat Johnson and Gerri Leggiadro as they rattle their wits during first period.

Driver Ed A different source of knowledge K L j E K ' B Driver Education is an important study which requires concentration and skill. Mr. Vine, the Driver Ed teacher, readies the projector for films concerning driving condi- tions and safety hazards. Trying to warn Mr. Vine what ' s in store for him, Katie Calluzzi gets ready to take over the wheel. Learning to drive can be a hair-raising experience, lust ask Mr. Vine! Always relieved to know that you were not in your first accident is the feeling you have after a session of Driver Education. Jane Hayes finds it a rather easy feat to open a car door, but Liz Cargiulo and Rosemary Pro- copio don ' t think that this is a require- ment for passing the course. 33
