Our high school years go swiftly by,
The years of work and play and fun,
We watch them end, and with a sigh
We know our work has iust begun.
Marriage, career, and college too -
Our goals will differ so,
But whatever it is in life we do
We shall succeed, we know!

HISTORY OF OUR CLASS
Starting out last September, we, the class of
'55, elected our officers and became organized
for the year.
ln the back of our minds were the highlights
of our sophomore and iunior years. As tenth
graders we had been busy getting used to high
school ways, listening for every hint that the
upper classmen would drop. That was the year
the St. Joe Bears brought home the State
Champs' trophy and made us-oh! so proud.
Eleventh grade found us well-established and
eager to make an outstanding class showing.
When we turned magazine salesmen and rang
the community's doorbells, we broke all school
records for sales. We used part of the money
earned for the Junior-Senior Prom, "Stairway to
the Stars". That's something we'lI never forget.
Our Senior year has offered more opportunity
for class activities-selling magazines, present-
ing our second class play, working on the
Mazenblue, exchanging senior pictures, and
ordering announcements. Ahead of us are the
Senior Class Picnic, Baccalaureate, and finally
Graduation-all of which make '55 truly a
year to remember.

The day in school seems often Iongp
The hours of play speed by,
And though it seems we're often wrong
We never cease to try.
We play to win in Iife's sweet game
And try to show our best.
To help each other is our aimp
We hope to pass "our" test.

This has been a busy and successful year for the senior High
School Band. During the first months of the school year the
band devoted its time to football music and marching. After
that the annual 7:60 Show was presented with "A Tribute to
Glenn MiIler," featuring "Little Brown Jug," and "Tuxedo Junc-
tionp" "Trumpet Boogie," another modern arrangement, will not
soon be forgotten.
Much of the winter was spent in preparation for contests. In
the spring the seventy-four members traveled to Portage where
all four judges awarded them superior ratings in the District
Music Festival.
Scholarships are given to deserving iunior and senior band
members each year so that they may continue with their train-
ing in summer workshops.

tives elected each fall.
The purpose of this organization is to discuss
student problems and to promote harmony in
the school. The Student Council publishes the
handbook and its supplement, schedules after-
game dances, sponsors the Christmas dance
and Variety Show, and chooses paid assemblies
to be given during the year.
