Certificates given to Students of the Week Thirty-two students received certi- ficates for being selected as Stu- dents of the Week during the 1987-88 school year. Given certificates for the hrst se- mester were Brian Shideler, Bryan DeChaine, Pat Goodman, Julie Pulsipher, Robert Waite, Dawn Be- gay, Shanie Wilhelm, Cord Cohee, Kelli James, Ryan Brower, Carolyn Burnett, Vicki Valencia, Mike Lee, Tony Morse, Mike Bell and Bran- don Martin. Students selected as Students of the Week for the second semester were Kim Fowler, Mark Brown, Hyrum Lunt, Victor Marino, Kim Wyrick, Joane Garren, Brent Overson, Corinne Brown, Cheryl Gleason, Rhonda Sample, Rebecca Biggs, Dana Bischoff Bill Isaacson, Heather Russell, Amber Welch and Kathy Carney. Students of the Week are selected on their scholarship, attitude and dependability. The Coronado Gen- erating Station provided Redskin mugs and solar calculators for all students receiving the Student of the Week award. Students receive departmental achievement awards Receiving awards from the Business department were Mindy Udall, accounting and typing, Claire Ball, typing, Cord Cohee, computer, Vicki Valen- cia, general business and Bridget Chavez, secre- tarial lab. Mike Pursley received an Intro to Science award. Dana Bischof received the Advanced Science award. Doug Kennedy was awarded the Bausch and Lomb Science Award. Brent Overson was awarded in Advanced Biology. Earth Science awards were given to Brian Parker and Dee Stan- aland. Cord Udall received a Geography award. The Algebra l award went to Rhonda Sample and Bryan DeChaine. Tony Morse received the Alge- bra ll award. ln the Vocational Department Pat Goodman, Randy Brower, Karen Malanca and Mike Bell received awards. Beginning Drafting awards were given to Pacer Udall and Mike Bell, Joe Coffey received the Advanced Drafting award. Introduc- tion to lndustrial Arts awards went to Corene Luton, John Dimbatt, Mike Pursley, Brandon Martin and Bryan DeChaine. Dominic Garcia re- ceived an award in Woods. Kaylene Jarvis re- ceived an Art Award. Amber Welch was awarded in Arts and Crafts. Auto l awards were given to Brian Shideler and Shawn Wakefield. Rhonda Sample and Dolores Garcia received awards in Child Development. The Home Eco- nomics I award was given to Maura Hannah. Tracy Church received an award in Single Surviv- al. Heather Russell received an award in Health. English awards were given to Tim Zales, Cisco Padilla, Corinne Brown and Claire Ball received a writing award. Cord Cohee received a Freshman writing award. The Freshman English award went to Bryan DeChaine. Laurice Turley received a Sophomore English award. 91
