The seniors, Kurt Wilhelm, Robert Waite and Ashley Hall, had Hnal grade point averages within one-hundredths of each other. Good friends since their elementary days, the boys ap- proached the school board and requested they be made tri-valedictorian. , , Seniors Reap Seniors receive recognition, aid with higher , fe r education fx i Forty-nine scholarships were handed out to seniors dur- ing this year's Honor Day Assembly. Kurt VWlhelm re- ceived the SRP Coronado Generating Station Engineer- ing Scholarship, an ASU Leadership Scholarship, ASU 's Medallion of Merit Award, an U of A Tuition Waiver Scholarship, a NAU Regents Scholarship, Ricks Full- Tuition Scholarship, and a BYU Half-Tuition Scholar- ship. Robert Waite walked away with a U of A Regents Schol- arship, a General Academic Scholarship, ASU 's Aca- demic Scholarship and the Wht Mtn Comm Hospital's Scholarship. Ashley Hall was awarded an ASU Aca- demic Scholarship, U of A 's Regents Academic Scholar- ship, a NAU General Academic Scholarship, a BYU Half- Tuition Scholarship and an Academic Decathlon Scholar- ship. A 4-year Air Force ROTC Scholarship went to Hyrum Lunt as well as an ASU Academic Scholarship, an U of A Regents Academic Scholarship, U of A 's President's Award for Excellence, an Academic Decathlon Scholar- ship, the Rose Hulman Institute Academic Scholarship, the SJ Education Association Scholarship, Wht Mtn Comm 8: Physicians Scholarship and a Nat'l Merit Schol- arship Letter of Commendation. Misty Mineer received ASU's Academic Scholarship, U of A 's Academic Scholarship, NA U 's Academic Scholar- ship, Ricks Award Scholarship and the Ann Wlbur Me- morial Fund award. The Alamito Scholarship went to Cindi Bischof Heather Wilhelm received a Wallace B. De Mtt Scholarship. The Wht Mtn Hospital Board pre- sented a scholarship to Kevin Crosby. Ryan Mangum received the Army Reserve Nat'l Scholar Athlete award. The Contel Scholarship went to Kelli James. Kim Pirtle received a Wallace B. De Witt Scholarship and the Ro- tary Scholarship. Debbie Porter walked away with the Navopache Electric Cooperative Scholarship and the Vocational Advisory Scholarship. Loretta Jackson was awarded an Army Reserve Nat'l Scholarship and a Wal- lace B. De Witt Scholarship. Wcki Jaramillo, Paul Acosta and Maria Pena were each presented with a Miguel Chavez Scholarship. Sarah Anaya received the Booster Club Scholarship. Juanelle Shreeve received a scholarship to Evans Hair- styling College. Robyn Lee was awarded a scholarship to the LDS Business College. A Leadership scholarship to BYU went to Brian Mnters. Scholarships, Departmental Achievement Awards Closer 'ro 'tina Futura Departmental achieve- ment awards were present- ed to seniors during the Honor Day Assembly. The Senior English award went to Ashley Hall. Robert Waite received the Physics award and Justin Platt received the Chemistry award. The GTA math award went to Ashley Hall. Faculty honor top students Kevin Crosby and Glen Pearce were honored for their achievements in Autos and Metals. The Graphics Award went to Brian Mecham. Misty Mineer walked away with the Psychology award. Kim Pirtle and Robert Waite each received a Democracy award. Hyrum Lunt, Mindy Udall and Robert Waite were recognized for their participation in the Citizen Bee. Athlete of the year awards went to Loretta Jackson and Mike Gray. The Advanced Foods award was given to Kelli James, Heather Mhlhelm received the Advanced Clothing award and Elouise Ballejos was recognized as the Most Improved. Dawn Begay received the DCE award with the Account- ing award going to Lisa Westberg. The Principal 's Extra Mile award went to Brian Winters. Robert Waite re- ceived the Honor Choir Award. Kim Pirtle receives the Rotary Scholarship
