joe Ramirez Sanfa CZCLPQ CACLHQIQJ On the 27th, 28th, and 29th of Decem- ber, the Noble Five made the long trip to Oxnard to play in the annual Santa Clara Tournament. On the opening night the team played the host team, Santa Clara, and went down fighting by five points in the last seconds. In the second game the polished Noble Quintet, led by jerry Hackworth, broke the tourney scor- ing record by outclassing Moor Park, 66 to 33. In the championship game against Simi, the Men of St. john's began to feel the weariness of travel. The game was a see-saw battle until jim joyce, in the last two seconds of play, sank a 15 ft. jump shot. The rest is history.
