During the course of the school year, students from our school participated in numerous contests. The most important of these were The Voice of Democracy, which several of the students entered and the Examiners Unitd States History Contest, which eight seniors and two juniors entered. The Italian government sponsored an essay contest in which Mario Brunetti won a gold medal. Another senior, Gerald Marvray, took top honors in the Los Angeles Examiner's Bill of Rights contest.
