Fwskff Qopks Daw The Freshman basketball team this year was mighty impressive with standouts Bryon Strachan and Chris Witt, furnishing a lot of the points. Chris Witt led the team in rebounds. Coached by Steve Trejo the Fresh- man team ended the season with a record of 7-5 in league and 11-7 overall. Strachan was voted the team MVP. The Sophomore basketball team RF.. . Q I af U cleaned up its act this year and ended the season with a respecta- ble record of 6-6 in league and 10- 10 overall. Standouts were Gus Gar- reras with an average of 14.5 points and Paul Bryant who led the team in rebounds. TougM2oaa6,fofvQocwv - - Bosco's varsity soccer team was undefeated at home this year as the squad boasted a 5-0-1 mark on its home field. However, tough losses on the road, coupled with some key injuries put an end to any playoff hopes. Bosco entered the Del Rey League this year after winning back to back championships in the San Gabriel Valley League. One of Bos- co's losses was at the hands of Lyn- wood the eventual S.G.V.L. champ who scored in the last minute to win 1-A . W Q we ,L 4, L as the match. Bosco got revenge when they bent the Loyola Cubs 4-1. This was the first time a Bosco soccer team had beaten them. Bosco seemed to have a win over St. Ber- nard's when they lead 2-Con goals by Tony Morales and Rudy Guzman. However the Braves had to settle for a 2-2 tie with the eventual league champs.
