VARSITY FOGTBALL Although this year's football team did not make headlines or rewrite the record books, it did give the crowds plenty to cheer about. With twelve junior starters and only one returning starter among the seniors, the Braves 4-5 season record should not be taken lightly. The Braves worked hard, led by co-captains Charles Pillon, Paul Davis, and Don Niklas, and played well against many playoff-bound teams. These efforts did not go unnoticed and ten St. John Bosco players received Del Rey League recognition. Those receiving first team all-league honors were seniors Charles Pillon, Don Niklas, and junior Dave Lira. Seniors Kevin Kelly, Rich Gardner, and Lou Acosta, as well as iuniors Dave Wehrly, Chris Topps, John Carroll, and Dan Fitzgerald received second team all-league honors.
