Five of last years varsity team players, Pat Loy, Mark Perry, Tracy Wilkerson, Tim Witte and captain Jay Miskiel, are returning this year. Having easily won their first three practice matches, the team is a major contender for the esteemed Del Rey League championship. Their tough pre-season schedule will prepare them well for the highly competitive league play. 93

The Braves have several reasons to possess high hopes for this '78' season. They have eight returning Varsity starters including Chris Ginter, Ron Pantuso, Dave Fields, Tom Manix, pitchers Dan Colunga and Brian Duquette and all leaguers Kevin Kelly 11st teaml, and Alex Rivera 42nd teaml. The Braves have shown promise early in the pre-season by posting a 2-2 record against very tough competition, preparing for a successful league effort. 95
