Third row: Dan Hoehr, Tim Grobaty, Mark Suda. Back row: Barry O'Connor, Scott Carusa, Fred Roggero. -Q This swim season, the second in history for St. John Bosco, has been a satisfying one. Individually, Coach Tom Maples could single out several Braves for a job well done. Among them were Sophomore Nick Hayman, who holds the sch ool record in the 50-fly 1:27213 Freshman Tom Thorman, who has a :24.5 50-freestyle to his credit, Junior John Kane whose 1:10 in the 100-breast- stroke is significant because it is 15 seconds faster than last year, Sophomore Mike Schaadt, an outstanding distance swim- mer, and Sophomore Carl Topps, a strong varsity sprinter whose times keep coming down. Overall, Maples could take sat- isfaction from the added experi- ence his team has gained this year. iNote that all the swim- mers listed above will be back again next year.J in addition, a good turnout of frosh points to a continuing pro- gram at the school. Thus, individual effo rt and added experience plus the large number who will be on hand next year all add up to a suc- cessful swim season at St. John Bosco.
