On the night of Feb. 20, eight seniors played their last game for SJB. In the photo at the top left, they line up as they are introduced to the crowd: Larry Matson, Kevin Trechter iback to cameral, Bill Erwin, Jack Blea, Ed Rivers, and Stan Wall. Also in the photo but almost totally hidden are Tim Kane, behind Matson, and Bob Arce, behind Trech- ter. Then, clockwise, from the upper right, are members of the starting tive in action: Kane, Matson, Erwin, Blea and Arce. This season's basketball team will long be remem- bered, not for its won-lost mark, but rather tor the never-quit attitude of its players. Off to a most frus- trating start lt-8J, the team refused to roll over and play dead. instead, it came driving back to win its share of league games and to win the continued sup- port of its loyal fans with its style oi play, Jumping Bill Erwin and sharp-shooting Jack Blea led the Braves as they put some meaning into that over- worked phrase: it's not so much whether you win or lose, but how you play the game.
